Last week I went to see Alyssa Monks's show at DFN Gallery. I had the pleasure to interview her afterwards for Flavorwire.com. Read the interview right here. I cannot tell you how much I admire Alyssa's paintings and the thought process that goes into her work--she's my personal painter hero. It also made me wish I still painted. Anyone got a bright idea for where a girl could take a cheap painitng class to get back in the habit?

The Art Students League has classes that cost around $60 a month. Great instructors too (depending on who you get, obvi).
