Admired, Vol. II

A while back I ran a post chronicling some of the things I had admired recently. I've decided to make a habit of these types of posts. So here's volume two of the objects that have caught my eye lately:

These birch-like paper straws would be so chic for Christmas party cocktails! Birch paper straws, $8 for 144, Paper-Source.com
Yes, nearly $40 for an extension cord is outrageous, but have you ever seen an extension cord you actually desired? I sure haven't. Cloth Extension Cord, $38, BestMadeCo.com

I like the feel of a lightweight cotton hand towel instead of a terrycloth one, and I love that these basic Turkish ones are available in 27 color ways. Turkish hand towels, $19 each, Turkish-T.com

This simple towel ring is surprisingly affordable, and I like that it has a slim profile, so that it doesn't jut out into the room. It'd look great with a Turkish hand towel hanging from it! Hexagon Towel Ring, $14, UrbanOutfitters.com

How handsome is this chrome coffe maker? If we hadn't received a new coffeemaker last year as wedding gift, the Krups KT600 Silver Art Collection Coffee Maker would definitely be on my wish list, $129, Amazon.com.

If tea's more your thing, this double-walled glass electric tea kettle from Bodum is a great-looking kitchen appliance. BISTRO Electric water kettle, $100, Bodum.com.

Kids' catalogs are often the source of stylish and affordable furniture finds. Case in point: This knitted pouf is grown-up enough for any room in the house. Pull Up a Pouf (Grey Variegated), $99, TheLandOfNod.com.

I'd love to have some of these simple, glass and wood canisters for my kitchen. They're not just pretty; they're practical too: An optional rubber lip that can be slipped on top to create airtight storage. Wood Glass Canisters, Small, $22, and Large, $24, Merchant4.com.
